Server Preperation Guide

Preface

The following sections will outline everything that needs to be completed BEFORE we even begin to setup our code structure and install our application files. These steps will most likely be the ones where you will have to contact the IT department the most as we usually do not have full admin privileges on these servers to fix any issues we may come across. As always, if you come across anything that needs urgently fixed for you to continue you must contact their IT immediately. A good practice is to make sure you have their emails readily available during this portion.

Windows Server IIS Role/Feature Installation

The following steps must be completed on the APP server and, if the customer purchased a public-facing application module(OnlinePayments, Online Questionnaires, etc), then it must also be completed on the WEB Server. The customer's IT department should have communicated with you at this point which server will be which.

  • Open 'Server Manager'
  • Click Manage → Add Roles and Features
